Went to see Hidalgo, as it's on its last legs at the box office... had been very keen to see it, then got thrown by mediocre reviews. The reviews are wrong; it's a good movie. I enjoyed it as much as Eternal Sunshine...

Also, how funny-- I was thinking randomly about Deerhoof this afternoon (I only have a couple of downloads by them), looked up their tour schedule, saw they'll be in Baltimore in a week, and looked up The Otto Bar and it's street location... then almost immediately I saw the interview today on SG.
If I do go (and I think I will) I hope they do "Da Peekop Beh."

I loved Eternal Sunshine.... Now I'm going to put Party Monster on the laptop, put it in bed w/ me, and dream that I'm a fabulous NYC club kid circa early 90's who's "addicted to glamour, not drugs." I totally missed Marilyn Manson's character the first time around.

Haven't seen it. A bit dubious about giving Disney any more of my money. Anyway, my recent conversion is much less about spirituality than simply trying to find a way to achieve a balance. I have been an atheist since 16, Science being my only religion, and I still feel that logic is superior to any sort of mysticism. But it is also evidenced by Science that meditation and some degree of faith can greatly improve mental and physical health. Now the question is, can I actually have faith if it is simply for health, and not a deeper feeling of spirituality. As for the saving lives thing, I was indoctrinated by an activist mother to feel wrongly privileged to live comfortably while much of the world barely gets by. Been feeling guilty about that since I was little. surreal
BTW HoldenCauldfield just formed a new Liberal Politics Group and invited me in told me to spread the word. Word is spread. smile
