I Love the '80s part Two
Bad news - I was trying to get Brian Eno's Oblique Strategies cards through interlibrary loan. But nobody would loan them... so the interlibrary loan manager suggested looking at the Library of Congress site... they don't have it... so then another coworker said, "Why don't you see if Brian Eno has a website?" Of course! There is a site that sells Eno's stuff, but the cards are 30 Pounds... about $60.
I was trying to win them today on eBay from a comic shop in New Orleans, but some dude has outbid me...
Good news - I got a beat-up old copy of the Rock Yearbook '83 on eBay!! I fucking love this book!! My sister and my best friend both owned it back then; it's a profile of American and British rock in 1982, with snippets of record reviews, record sales charts, short articles (Stray Cats, J Geils Band, Kim Wylde, etc), critiques of album covers, and quotations from rock folks. My favorite, which I'm sure I posted here months ago, is by Ozzy, who said:
Nobody gives Colonel Sanders the stick I've had, and he murders about 9 million chickens a day!
(I think Ozzy was trying to say "schtick" [Sharon's dad is Jewish] or "shit")
last minute PS - Ack!! In an attempt to find the Brian Eno shop, I have found an Online Random Oblique Strategy Generator! Fantastic; I mighta just saved $50:

oh also, 30 pounds would be about 45 dollars.
aneurotypical:
As far as AS goes, the whole "extreme male" characterization doesn't really have to do with aggression as it does with the inability to interpret and regulate emotions. It is more typically for us to be despondent and passive, preferring to avoid any kind of interaction that we don't know how to deal with rather than deal with it violently unless your personal space is violated. The more I think about it, the gorilla comparison does make sense, not that autistic people should be thought of like gorillas, but that our place in social situations can seem as alien as that of a gorilla in a zoo.
