Forgive my brevity; I assume most folks aren't around on the weekend anyway:
1) Took mom to birthday dinner
2) I think I got food poisoning... maybe a virus
3) Much of this
during the night
4) I feel like hell
5) I managed to make a couple of mix CDs, finally... to be honest, illness or not, I wouldn't have done much more than this by now, except maybe go out and get spicy food...
...and I ain't doing that

I don't know what HST would say. Maybe it's time I started reading some of his stuff, too. But then, maybe I shouldn't. Maybe he'll just tell me what I already know, but articulate it more clearly than I've previously read, or differently. All I really know about him is from the Gilliam movie. I dunno. Is he just a big, fat, incessant cynic? Don't know if I need any more of that right now. Like... take Vonnegut. I think I've read everything he ever wrote. Unfortunately, I think I read 90% of it in a month or two of straight-through reading. Left me incredibly depressed. He's a brilliant writer, one of my favorites. But after reading his stuff, I find myself seeing the world through deeply cynical lenses, you know? Is Thompson like that?
