My delay in coming on here and saying holiday-hellos to everyone was, you guessed it...
I was sick as hell Xmas Eve, Xmas, and Boxing Day
Yesterday, I was still kinda crummy, but as of today I just have cold symptoms.
At work on Xmas Eve I just had a sore throat so I was taking cough syrup... I was attributing my flagging energy that night to the syrup and went to bed early.
Xmas morning I started feeling cold symptoms. While lugging gifts for the family out to the car, I felt sore all over. After opening gifts with mom/ brother, I mentioned that I "might be" getting a fever...
101.5 F
...and went up n down over the next 48 hours. Had no nausea, or diarrhea, but felt chills, heat, cold symptoms, and that great run-over-by-steamroller feeling a fever gives you.

Anyway, I wanted to point out one more great movie I saw, as per suggestion by a coworker who is a big Barbara Stanwyck fan (I'd never seen her stuff; it's just recently that I'm interested in 1930s-50s movies), Christmas in Connecticut. Now, this movie has
no UFOs (although it has a U-boat)
no zombies
no heads blown apart by pistol-fire
no unnecessary nudity ...oh, wait, there is a baby bathing at one point... and a naked cow
no Guitar F Wolf
no real rock and roll at all, not even Good Charlotte
but it is good. Speaking of the movie, it is two days overdue (since I was passed out in bed the last three days) so I'm gonna go return it now...
belated holiday GREETING to all

The EP I got is mainly songs they recorded for "Summer Sun" but couldn't fit on the album. Basically all the rockin' tracks that wouldn't have fit the mood. Plus an acoustic version of "Cherry Chapstick" they played on an Australian radio show. Good stuff.
The only Stephen Merritt stuff I have is the complete 69 Love Songs... I keep meaning to pick up earlier Magnetic Fields releases or the first Sixths album.
