Didn't write on here last night due to being really tired. Watched some old Tom Green, watched some The Holy Mountain, then decided around 10:30 that my eyes wanted to close.
Woke up around 3:30... got to sleep about 2 hours later... had some very weird dreams, which seems to me my insomnia pattern of late, wake up followed by extended weird dreams.
...but then again, how often are dreams normal??
I have to go to an appointment now, but I'll post something more substantial, or at least not as fucking dull, later tonight.
--- --- --- --- --- --- ---
I was just looking at the Boards; keeee- rist how boring. No wonder I've ignored them.
Well, I guess the onus is on me now to say something fascinating... hmm. It has been a kinda lacklustre week.
I finished re-reading Resident Alien, the Quentin Crisp book which has little to do with his film, Resident Alien, except for the fact that he takes speaking engagements for the film throughout the book. Makes sense now?
Here is a snip of the book:
Just as religion is for evangelists, not for congregationists, and education is for teachers, not for students, so politics are for politicians, not for voters. The people who enter these professions are those who cannot live without their income of adoration. Most me search, in their spare time, for a woman who can be relied upon never to let a day go by without saying, "How clever you are," or "You're going to win... in the end." This woman they marry and if, after a while, she ceases to utter the essential adulatory phrase, they move on to someone else. There are, however, some men for whom, from the very beginning, the praise of one person is not enough. They become actors or, if the stage seems too hazardous a profession, they take to education, evangelism, or politics.
