Oct. 5 edit -- will be out of town overnight. Going to visit folks in Richmond. Seeeya. bok

TWO THINGS:

1) I enjoyed that rocking duuude Jack Black in his movie o' rock. I haven't heard this much spontaneous applause in a movie theater since... the original Star Trek and Star Wars films, 20 years ago. Now, I'm not saying it's the Best Movie In Twenty Years. I am saying it's a Fun Waste Of Nine Dollars (American).

2) Will someone with serious tattoo experience please make a serious tattoo analysis of my last My Pics, as far as serious tattoo shading advice? Thank youuu.

edit ps - a explanatory note by vaj:

well, sure a giant octopus on one's leg isn't something you see often, but it IS tattoo art - you could approach most people and ask the same thing of their tattoos. why would Morgan want a tattoo of the little prince on her for the rest of her life (or myself, at the same time, because i have one of them too), why would someone want a burning skull stuck on them forever (which i see all too often)? a workmate of mine has david bowie (from the aladdin sane cover) tattooed on her. my father has a set of cartoon cats and pigs asking 'hey you-' 'who, me?' on him. there's so many choices of art to put on your body, i'd say the more appropriate question would be, 'why NOT have a picture of such and such on your person?'
but as for my wanting an octopus on my leg... well, i love them. i think they're gorgeous, graceful, mysterious creatures. maybe i hoped that some of those qualities would rub off onto me if i had a constant reminder of them on my leg. i've always been amazed by octopuses - they keep to themselves and aren't showy like dolphins (which there are all too many of, by way of tattoos). i think they're the underdog. i think they're beautiful.
and, hell, my leg didn't have any other artistic appointments at that time. i can't change it, you're right. i don't think i'll want to, 40 years down the track. its now a part of me, another landmark of happenings in my life, like all my tattoos. and i still haven't finished her. she needs some shading and depth.
and that's a longass way of explaining why i think nothing of having an octopus tattooed on my leg. gospel over, have a good day, lovelies.
