En espanol un chiva es...a goat.
I think I learned that chiva was Spanish for goat before I knew there was a soccer team called Chivas. But when those two bits of info collided I thought it was hilarious and ultra-cool at the same time. I had seen a Chivas hat at a barbecue restaurant that I liked and used to go to occasionally. It was usually a little busy but not too bad. When I went there for what turned out to be the last time, I went in there with a co-worker and we went to the counter and were ignored. I'd been in there when it was pretty busy before and thay'd take your order, but it might be a while before it was ready. The only apparent difference? The guy I was with was Mexican. Maybe I read the situation wrong, but there was no other reason that I could think of. Needless to say I never went back and didn't buy a hat there.
P.S. I accidently left my cool new hat at work today.
addendum:
I was going to post a lyrical bit that was running through my head earlier, but I forgot to because of fatigue. I present it now:
Here and now is all that counts
Here and now in large amounts, uh huh
It's the pleasure and the pain
That makes us do it all again, uh huh
Be beautiful but shut up
The going can be real tough, uh huh
