so i walk up to earthlink live last night and who do i see getting out of a cab? that's right- liz phair! she went over to side of the building where some crew or band members were talked to them for a bit, took a pic of one on a mini motocycle and left. i was too to do anything but snap a couple of pix! unfortunately i couldn't catch her looking my way when i snapped the pic (i have trouble getting any woman to look my way much less a rock goddess! ).
anyways, the entire show rocked! charlotte martin came on first. she's a singer-songwriter-pianist who performs solo. really really good! she did a great cover of wild horses by the stones. how can you not like a girl who throws lines like "i'll get medieval on your ass" in a piano ballad?
then came katy rose. a singer-songwriter who had a great band. she has a great stage presence. hot as hell too!
then came the cardigans, who are from sweden if you don't remember. they were really great too. they rock harder than you might expect if you remember "lovefool".
then came liz! she played pretty much everything you would expect. new stuff and old stuff. she has a really great band too. she even played one song solo. she finished with a great 2 song encore- the much requested "fuck and run" and "hwc". i guess you could say she was a tease to leave us with those!
if the women with attitude tour comes near you sell your (in)significant other, pawn your jewels, and beg from mom and pop, just make sure you get a ticket!
oh yeah, i came within inches of getting a set list and on the way out they gave me a gift bag with blue eye shadow and $2 eckerd coupon for maybelline products- won't i be purdy!
