Christmas shopping is pretty much done. I sent the care package off to Australia Monday, and spent the rest of the day depleting my bank account. I'm now officially poor! The fridge and cupboards are stocked, so no worry.
My neighbor died last weekend--I was there--so I'm going to the funeral home today, and tomorrow I'll attend his funeral. While we were standing around waiting for the medical examiner to show up, his wife began to complain of chest pains. She'd had four heart attacks herself, so I told her to hop into the ambulance and get to a hospital. The police and ambulance dudes backed me up, and she went. Good thing she did because she was having a heart attack right then and there. She came home yesterday.
While we weren't buddy-buds, I've known my neighbor for over 50 years. He lived across the street when we moved into this house while I was a kid, and his wife was a classmate of mine. I'll miss the cantankerous old rascal.

Awww maan, what a sad time it is for your neighbors wife to lose him around the holidays, but thankfully you guys helped save her! I hope u and your family have a splendid time together
