In order to focus on something that bothers you, you have to stop focusing on the things that you do enjoy. Here, let me break it down for you. Me and you are talking about how awesome the green skittles are. Someone else stands in front of me and says "You're dress is ugly as shit." No longer are you thinking about green skittles and instead are focusing on how some guy doesn't like your dress. I'll just sit there while you and that dude have a very heated discussion about how he's not nice, how your dress isn't what he wants, how it's what you like, but he doesn't care, you don't care, etc.

Or, you could just not talk to him and continue talking to me about how much you love green skittles. But you can't do that while you're talking to him. So yes, in order to focus on what he wants to talk about you have to NOT focus on the green skittles. Which is probably not something that you want to do. Chances are you were already enjoying the conversation about green skittles and didn't want to stop. All you have to do is just forget about whatever that guy was talking about and get back to green skittles. Maybe even eat some if that's what's needed. Like for example, this journal could have been about something you enjoy. But instead you stopped thinking about things you enjoy and went into journal battle with someone you have blocked. Don't make much sense to me. Me, I'd expect you'd want to do whatever's necessary to get yourself back on track. biggrin

Hmmm...
I've finished my first week in bartending school.
