I'VE BEEN very blown away by the news with Japan...the earthquakes and tsunami
it's kind of effected me, I guess....It's a country I've always adored and I've been to.
I have friends there and their families...
I have people I wasn't able to keep in contact with and I only hope that they are alive and well.
I have other friends who I know are fine.
Jefer's friend's brother was over there to teach english. He's assumed dead...there was a landslide that destroyed his and 7 other houses.
The news was sugarcoating things....only about 100 dead they said on the first day but I went on a separate site where i read that over 18,000 people were missing.
my friend constantly updates his facebook for people to know more information, trains etc...and it's so sad to read things about how the aftershocks are worse at night than during the day...they've suffered and they can't move on cause they're constantly being reminded...
We just saw a video where an 60 year old man was recently saved from his house. He clung to the roof and waved red fabric like a flag. He was 9 miles out to sea. His wife wasn't able to hold on so she died.
I don't know if I would have been able to hold on after watching my loved one die.
so far, 15,000 people have been rescued.
this is so amazing to me. 15 THOUSAND people rescued.
and it DISGUSTS me...the whole "remember Pearl Harbor" thing that i saw on Facebook....
people saying that Japan is getting what they deserve....ugh...i guess those two bombs we dropped on them wasn't enough....they just get to have the grief associated with the bombings...where children are still be born deformed aka effected and we arent really having so much resonating from pearl harbor...more like some deaths and bruised egos
Japan is a close ally to the United States and I'm very much ashamed to have people in the US say such atrocious things
grow up
and realize that this could have happened anywhere in the world.
that could be your brother who died. your mother. your father. you.
yes. i am very much effected by the earthquake and tsunami...
i placed i've been and i've walked on has been hurt by mother nature and even though we couldn't stop it....it still hurts.
i am really gracious to the people working hard to find the people who are missing. you are absolutely amazing.
i am so amazed by the strength of these people who have hung on for so long.
and i am so saddened by the people that will hang on for as long as possible and won't be able to be helped.
and i am so saddened by the many people who have already passed away.
my heart goes with you all
i really wish i could go and help them...but i don't really have the opportunity to
ok, emotional rant over.
