My grandmother passed away on Tuesday, around midnight, in her sleep. I talked to her only 5 hours prior to that and am very glad that I got a chance to tell her that I loved her.
Last night, Kim and I went out to dinner and I ordered a Bud Light to toast my Grandmother. It's a family tradition, drinking Budweiser, because my Grandfather worked for the brewery for many years. (My aunt, uncles and mother shared a Bud with her only a few hours before she passed away.) If you know me at all you know I don't drink (well, hardly ever), but I polished off the long neck in my Grandmother's memory. (Not the best tasting of beers, but it was the thought and meaning behind it that really mattered.) I am certain to join the rest of my family in getting shnookered after her memorial service. (also a family tradition)
