it was 10 degrees out this morning when the girl and I left for work. God, I hate Central NY. At least it didn't snow last night so I didn't have to brave the cold to brush off the car or scrape off ice or any of that fabulous bullshit.
Went to Zebb's, a burger restaurant around here, for lunch. Last time we were there we had such horrible service that they gave us a $10 gift certificate. We really like the place so of course with incentive like that we went back. I think people have started to recognize us there now. Of course we aren't easily missed either. But anyway, I digress.....the point of this story is that we were treated like members of the royal family in there today..... even had our food served to us by the manager. We're not sure if they were trying to kiss our butts for our last experience or not, but hey, like we were gonna argue. It was the coolest. When we got outside we just started laughing because it made us feel so good to be treated like a king and queen. So of course we had to give something back. So we left a hefty tip, for our exceptional waiter, on a meal that only cost us like $16, $6 if you subtract the gift certificate.
The girl wanted me to pick her up from work early today too. She gets out at 4 and i'm done at 4:30. so she usually hangs around until i come to get her. Today, however, she called me up around 3:30 and pretended to be sick. I kinda fibbed to my bosses (I have 3 of them, that's 3 fibs... I'm going to Hell
) and got to leave work early. Hooray for the girl! (She Rocks!) and Hooray for leaving work at 3:45 and still getting paid for it! So when I picked her up we went to an army navy store and a local thrift shop. I didn't find anything cool (mens wear was extremely picked over), but she made out like a bandit. A coat, a dress, pants and a skirt. and damn if she doesn't look spectacularly beautiful in all of them!
I have to be quiet now though. She's sprawled out all cute like sleeping on the couch.
