So, the 2 year "anniversary" of Hurricane Katrina came and went a couple days ago. I purposely avoided watching TV that day and concentrated on writing and taking EmKay out for dinner and a movie. We saw "Superbad" and it was hilarious!! I love those kids!
Afterwards we tried to get some dinner at Ice House but because of a lack of staff the dining room was closed. Damnit! So, we drove thru Taco Hell and almost immediately I began to regret that decision. You ever know as soon as you start eating something that it was a bad choice? Yeah, well that's how I felt eating my cheesy potatoes and taco supreme. Uh oh! Of course I was sick all night and most of the next day.
The next day when I was feeling better and EmKay got home, we decided to do it again. No, not the Taco Hell upset stomach part, but the going out to dinner and a movie. I know to some people it must seem weird that I'm talking about dinner and a movie like it's some strange concept but to EmKay and I it is. We rarely do it, maybe a couple times a year, so when we do it it's special.
Anyway, next night was Applebees(cuz it's close and I like the soup) and "The Simpsons" cuz well, it's the Simpsons. Dinner was enjoyable, except for all the breeders with their children crying and whining everywhere. And the movie was "excellent", as Mr. Burns might say. We loved it! Still quoting it today!
And that was our Katrina anniversary week. I guess we had a better time than my friends and family who are still there. But we send them our love! PEACE!!
