Indeed, coincidentally (?) this set was pre-MR...  I miss the variety of sets there was during that time.

You're the awesome person who donated!!  Thank you so much, it means a ton. :))  I'll think of a cool thank you for ya.

catdad:

@saurian Seeing a new set from you will be thank you enough.  Maybe you can get to one of the mega shoots and have a great time hanging with the other girls.

From olsen

haha I noticed you guys actually had more snow than we did for a while.  It was surreal to see pictures - my old boss actually made a snow parlour, complete with a fire pit and loveseats.

Hi thanks for supporting my new set When the angels kiss with the beautiful @atomic ... is very important for us, we need a little more love :) kisses and hugs!

Happy New Year!! Thanks for the love on my page, Im shooting my next set next week, so keep a look out for it xo

I've never been able to bring myself to play out the evil side of things. Perhaps that's why I've missed some of the bugs...

catdad:

@grayness I've never been able to do it the first play-through, but if I like the game enough, I'll try it on the second, just to see how things are different.  The reactions from the 'good' NPC sidekicks to some of the evil choices I made in SWKotOR were pretty entertaining.

twelve:

I had a hard time doing the "renegade" stuff in Mass Effect because I never knew if I was going to be funny, mean, or straight up evil.

From twelve

Oh, there is plenty. For instance, I guess I am just making a random comment on your page. I have no idea if I should do that, or post it as a reply to my own blog post.

twelve:

Oh and I can't push enter to make a new line because that just submitted. Oh well, they probably won't fix it for another 6 years anyway.

catdad:

@twelve They may have the return thinger working within 6 months or so.  It works when we post our own blogs and anywhere in the groups.  In the meantime...

there are sneaky workarounds.

Yeah, go ahead and post on my blog or randomly on my page.  I get a notification either way.

I approached Fallout 3 with a great deal of hesitation- but no hate. VATS  was a reasonable compromise for those of us who prefer turn-based, and it didn't take long to win me over. But then, I'd been a fan of Bethesda from back with the original Elder Scrolls. I've yet to get bitten by any bugs in New Vegas- it's my favorite to this point. I just prefer the ones set out West, for whatever reason.

From grayness

Or not, as the case proved.

catdad:

@grayness I still haven't seen anything definitive about it being completely gone.  The stories I've seen are still saying they won't know how much or if any of it is left until Hubble can look for it.

catdad:

Okay, found the first 'confirmation' on phys.org.

From grayness

Well, maybe in the same sense that I wouldn't be "gone" if you ran me through a wood chipper. ;)  At least, that's the last *I* saw.

From olsen

OMG.  You are amazing.  I just saw that about your pledge!!

olsen:

I am so so excited that she got funded....I've had this glued together first draft of the book for about 5 years now, and been conniving and scheming to get her to publish it ever since.

olsen:

Yeah she's a cool human.  Seems very normal on the surface (well she did before her hair went lilac), but she has a neon brain.  Well worth keeping track of her!

So your thoughts on the kickstarter backer rewards got me thinking about other ways that Martha could boost her rewards without adding any new costs...  I talked to her about her existing art and listing that as rewards.  It's kinda cools....ultimately works out like art sales as a fundraiser for more art!

olsen:

So she decided to list some of this series of robot dolls she's been working on for years.....at least one backer bit!  So it's cool - she bumped her kickstarter a bit and gets to count it as a fine art sale!

olsen:

Thanks for getting my brain rolling!

Yeah, that is odd, given that people HAD been able to leave comments on that blog, post-migration, up until now. Perhaps it's because I changed how the comments are displayed under the "Show Posts From Others" setting? I really disliked having my testimonials floating around an already ridiculously cluttered main page, so I switched my comment display preferences from the "Everything" tab to the "From Others" tab. Hmm...dunno. So many quirks and bugs. This site has become the digital equivalent of a Rube Goldberg machine.

Okay, so this is weird: I just checked the privacy settings on my two most recent blogs, and they both had somehow  been mysteriously changed to "public." I have no idea how this happened, as, post-migration, I made sure all of my blogs were set to "followers only." This is starting to creep me out a bit. :-( Anyway...I'll leave you alone now.

cybele:

Hmm...looks like my "Loser" photo has disappeared from my Aug. 16 blog. Curiouser and curiouser. Ah, well... at least the other issue appears to have been resolved. For the moment. Thanks for your help, my friend. You are a peach.

From olsen

Yeah what I've learned watching her campaign and the ones around is that there seem to be two sorts of projects:
- the kind where the design is complete and they are literally using an avenue to sell products at street value, and
- the kind where the design is being kickstarted, and the backer benefits are thank-you gifts, but your money is going to a larger project than gettting a gift back.

I have heard that some people actually bankrupt themselves on kickstarter, by making the "gifts" too big, so it cuts out too big of a chunk from the money they have to work with.

I think that first kind of kickstarter, where the product is already complete, can be a little disingenuous maybe, as they're just using the site to amass a critical volume of orders.....and because they are structured a bit differently financially, they kind of spoil our expectations for what a backer benefit should be.

Hey look, breaks work!  Sure was ugly as I typed though@
