Today, another contractor who didn't want to do anything but replace doors and windows, and reframe the back entryway, leaving everything the way it is. He said the changes wouldn't be worth the cost.

K has tickets for the Pixies in May. I'm looking forward to it. I never got into them, but she has floated me mp3s from four of their albums and I don't understand why that is. I had a chance to see them when they were touring in support of Doolittle (I was there to see Bob Mould opening on his first solo tour), but the date I was with didn't want to stay for their set.

Was going through my old ticket stubs and concert preview/review clippings (and a few memories):

May 1, 1987 - Husker Du (Christmas opened) at Pine Street Theater
July 3, 1987 - The Replacements (the Young Fresh Fellows opened) at Pine Street
Sometime in late 87 or early 88 - The Meat Puppets (Screaming Trees opened) at the Starry Night Club
Nov 12, 1988 - Sonic Youth / Screaming Trees (Mudhoney opened) at Pine Street
June 27, 1989 - The Ramones (Murphy's Law opened) at Starry Night
Nov 1, 1989 - The Pixies, whom I missed (Bob Mould opened) at Starry Night
Sometime in December 1989 - The Obituaries (Indigo Zeroes opened) at Pine Street
Feb 23, 1990 - Soundgarden / Voivod (Prong opened) at Pine Street
Sometime in 1990 - Poi Dog Pondering (Brothers of the Baladi opened) at Pine Street
Nov 10, 1990 - Bob Mould (Ultravivid Scene should have opened but were awol - some regional band who was recording in Portland filled the slot) at the Melody Ballroom
May 7, 1991 - Bob Mould solo acoustic (Vic Chestnut opened) at Melody Ballroom
Sept 28, 1991 - Pearl Jam (Beauty Stab opened) at Satyricon
Oct 27, 1991 - CATS at the Civic Auditorium
Jul 2, 1992 - Poi Dog Pondering at Portland Rockcandy (formerly Pine Street Theater)
Aug 28th, 1992 - Tori Amos (A Man Called E opened) at the Roseland Theater (formerly Starry Night)
Oct 13, 1992 - CATS at Civic Auditorium (2nd row!)
Nov 16, 1992 - Sugar / Throwing Muses (the Boo Radleys opened) at Rockcandy
[end of 1993 - here's when I bought my house.]
Sept 13, 1994 - Tori Amos (don't remember the opening act/comedian) at the Civic Auditorium
Dec 31, 1994 - Pavarotti at the Memorial Coliseum
Nov 22, 2000 - Tina Turner (Joe Cocker opened) at the Rose Garden Arena
April 5, 2001 - Jonatha Brooke (John Eddie opened) at the Aladdin Theater
