Midweek update! Too bad I don't have anything planned to write about.

It's about 2:45, and I just woke up. Lately, I've been going to bed around 5, and I really REALLY need to break that habit here relatively soon. My sleep schedule is progressively getting more and more fucked up as the semester comes to a close. During the summer, what I really want to do (and thus probably won't end up doing) is wake up around 9-10 every morning and actually eat breakfast eeek

You know, I really hate writing this kind of entries. I really want to write about something meaningful, but I can't think of ANYTHING. Very irritating.

So, anyone got any good bass songs for me to learn? Anything Tool/RHCP is under control, so other suggestions would be optimal biggrin

I hope everyone has a fun week and weekend, whereas I'll probably once again sit here and waste my life away doing nothing.

[edit] Oh, and I own the iSketch group now... and I know how much you guys love both me and iSketch...so join the group! smile

can't think of any good bass lines to recommend. *looks at your favorites* hmm, is there bass in the intro to Oingo Boingo's Ain't This The Life? lots of fun changes in that one.

and it's better to do nothing than something you don't want to be doing.

Heh, going straight for the hardcore Tool/Chili Peppers. Flea and Chamberlain are heroes. Seriously, how do they do that?

I would recommend everything by the Beatles, just as a grounding for melodic basslines. Cake's "I Will Survive" is a great party favorite. It's just a fantastic pattern.

And, obviously: Anything by the riff-tastic Rage Against the Machine. There are a lot of little riffs, so you don't have to worry about memorizing a whole song, or for the most part, different chords.
