Nope, I'm not dead. Sorry.

I am, however, giving away a free piece of art. Cute, animal art, but art, nonetheless. Details are here: http://carrionart.deviantart.com/journal/

Participation is free, although it does require a (free) deviantART account (and I'm not shilling for dA-- I kinda hate them-- but I need the exposure).

I have a voting poll on the same page to decide what the subject...

Damn. I haven't posted since July... not that this gets read by many people (cue soundtrack of crickets chirping), but still.

And this will be short, and to the point. Still waiting to hear what's happening with the SG Slambook (I have a portrait of Churtch in that book, when it finally gets published; I know it's a long process, I'm just impatient); I'm in...

It's been a while since I've written, so I thought I was due...

"Work," such as it is, has been going well. I finished the first of my "Seven Sins" paintings about a week and a half ago; tonight I just transferred the drawing for "Envy" to the canvas, so the first glazes will go on tomorrow night. I have a contest deadline on August...

Same thoughts. It's been raining off and on here for like a week plus! Normally I'm not a fan of driving in the rain but yesterday was amazing...a perfect storm complete with lots and lots of lightning.

And you're actually the second person today to tell me to watch out for them. Definitely will do! wink

Ah, what to say, what to say...

Sometimes I wish I had more drama in my life; it would certainly make writing easier. A life of quiet mediocrity is hardly the way to inspire great prose.

Then again, when I had drama, I hated it, so it's kind of a mixed blessing. I guess I should just shut my trap and enjoy the lull.

On...

On the way home from a job today, I rolled up in the immediate aftermath of a car accident, less than a mile from my house. Two cars, major damage to both. The occupants of both vehicles were trapped.

I did a quick assessment of the scene, made sure that someone had called 911, and checked the victims. The guy in the first car was...

Home again, home again, jiggety-jig...

What a hectic (and, ultimately, rewarding) three weeks. Spent the entire time with the new girlfriend (and not a single complaint, despite it being the largest single block of time spent with a woman in the last 6 years), got paid to do some artwork (yay!), and didn't get hamburgered on the highway, despite putting nearly 6000 miles on my...

I think you mean either Elizabeth's father Henry or her sister Mary. Elizabeth I was extremely mild compared to them! But I appreciate the sentiment! x

She loves me.

Doesn't say a lot for her judgment, but goddam, I am happy.

Define, "sad:"

Me, packing for a trip to Buffalo (travel time: 11 hours) to see a female friend, when another female friend (travel time: 4.5 minutes) finally decides that she just HAS to spend a quiet evening alone with me, watching bad horror flicks and squirming around on the couch together.

Why this is sad: because I need to leave at 4 a.m. and I...

I dreamt of crocodiles, yesterday.

I don't remember the specifics, unfortunately. I remember being in the water with the crocodile, feeling that inevitable burst of fear that anyone is likely to get when within petting range of a 15' carnivorous lizard... and then she (don't ask how I know she's female, I have no idea) rolled in the water to show me her back, made...
