I'm about 3 weeks away from embarking on my bi-annual road trip. Its always quite a bit of fun, basically we drive from Minneapolis MN to Majahual MX (its about a 4 hour drive south of Cancun). 3000 miles of driving, the first half, through the states, is super boring though, its all Interstate 35 across the prairie for 2 entire days. Not much to see, not much to do, and the logical halfway point is always Oklahoma city, not much to do there. My buddy and I did stop at a seedy strip club there (I'm not into lapdances or anything, but seedy strip clubs just have some kind of quality I can't explain, like I feel like I'm in a Tarantino movie or something like that). I watched a stripper kick the shit out of a guy who got a little too fresh with her while she was dancing. That was definitely a highlight of the drive through the states.
In Mexico though, there's even less stopping, less exploring, less of all of that, particularly because northern Mexico is kind of dangerous. The plan for that part of the trip is to keep the speedometer needle buried for as long as possible to get through the danger zone. One night on the road there, and then boom, we're on the beach, drinking tequila, and scuba diving (though not at the same time). I'm pretty excited, especially the whole getting out of cold winter for a couple of weeks.
I guess that's about it as far as an update I've got. I keep thinking that I need to update here more often. I'm thinking about doing some story telling, I've got lots of good (and true) crazy stories that I should really right down somewhere. So keep your eyes peeled, it should be coming soon.
