So I bought at 3D printer. It's a Makerbot Replicator 2X. I bought it used (had less than 100 hours on it). I've made lots of small, really cool things with it. However, every time I attempt to make something that's large/multi-hour it always fails. The filament stops feeding eventually. I've had better success with the makerbot branded filament vs. some off-brand stuff that I picked up, but it's still not right. I made two new spool holders that sit on the desk behind the machine to reduce angles and friction over the original spool holders on the back of the machine. This seems to have only helped slightly. At this point I'm not sure what the problem is or what else to try. Like I said it makes small objects like a champ. I guess spending more hours reading random forum posts on the Internet is what my weekend will consist of...
