Comming back with another entry..
The last few days have been interesting to say the least. Filled with comedy and ironic twists, the fun of being in a band continues. Lets start with sunday, raining as anyone in southern cali knows, and we need to practice. I get a call from Donny asking me to meet him at his house to pick up our equipment. Fine no problem. As I pull into the parking lot, I see him loading up the stuff in Dave's ride. They tell me that I should go and drive out to help Abel with his drums, telling me to hurry cause they don't want to waste time. (A bit of perspective, Donny and Dave live in Rancho, Abel in Monrovia, with the studio in the middle, say 15 mins from either) So I'm off to Abel's making good time when I'm bombarded with calls going on about not wanting to wait around while we load/unload stuff. I said "Fuck that, we anit wasting another day because of a lame reason like that." So I drove faster, getting to his house in 35 mins or so. Got the shit loaded and made it to the studio 15mins later.
Now all this time, the guitars and related equipment are in the other car, and who gets to the studio first? Thats right, me. Not much more than 30 mins later they stroll in like "Hurry, Don't waste time" was never mentioned. I took my frustration out on my guitar and wrote a new riff that everyone liked, so I guess that evened out the night.
And for another ironic twist, I was late last night, so I guess I evened it out on the slacking side as well
Anyways, on a lighter note, we set up 3 shows for this weekend as well as a show in March down at the Wiskey in Hollywood. We gotta sell tickets for that one and it's on a Wensday, so we're going to have to work a little more for that show. Friday we play in Palm Desert and in Hemet on Saturday. But on Sunday we are playing a show more local to the IE.
(It's in my pics section if it doesn't show)
Come on out and check out all the bands (or just us ) and have a good time. We should be going on around 8:30 so come down and rock out with us! Check out our web space (<---) for some more show info and pics. I'm not too fond of Myspace, but it's free and lots of people use it. It gets the job done until we get a more sutable site.
And on a tasty note, I made some oatmeal and rasin cookies. My mom made some jello and decided to make hand made whipped cream. It turned out to be even better on the cookies. Mmmmm it is sooooo much better than the turd the store bought can spits out. Bah if I go on I'll start sounding like Martha Stewart, and then the government will have to come take me to jail for fraud!
Oh oh, almost forgot, I gotta give props to noctem for snaping up a new profile pic for me. My first one was a fugly one from my phone, bleh. This one is much betta.
R.I.P. Hunter, may your work continue to inspire the open minded and further strengthen your legacy.
