There is really so much I could write about, but I can't seem to get it all organized in my head. I suppose I could start with slightly mundane, every day things.
Codey (my roommate) and I are all moved in to our new apartment in Huntington. It took some hardcore cleaning (of course, I'm very adamant about cleanliess all the way down to scrubbing the rack in the fridge to scrubbing the base boards), but everything looks nice now. I had had worries at first about not being able to get comfortable with a new place or that living with Codey would have a negative effect on our friendship, but I can sleep there just as well as I did at home and if anything I think that Codey and I have grown even closer. We've had a few minor problems but they've been the kind that have managed to be amusing at the same time.
Yesterday evening I went to go take a shower before work and reached up to adjust the shower head and it just... broke off. It was like riot control inside of my shower, the water hit me in my chest hard enough to leave a bruise. I managed to get it off quickly and ended up using a pitcher to dump water over my head. Yeah. That kind of sucked.
Then tonight (I'm at work) Codey calls me and he's freaking out and is like, "I'm going to get a cat!" He apparently saw a mouse in the apartment. I found the whole thing rather amusing, a grown man freaking out so bad over a little mouse. So he literally went to his friend's house and borrowed their cat and brought it over to try and catch the mouse. We are both Vegans and highly supportive of animal rights so we are against buying any kind of trap or poison. We figured the best thing to do would be to get a cat and let nature take care of it.
Oh, and Saturday morning when I got home from work I walked in to discover all the lights in the house on, two people passed out on my couch, two people passed out in the living room floor, and someone passed out in my roommate's bed (Codey was on the couch). There were beer bottles and whatever else EVERYWHERE and my television was face down in the living room floor with the cords running over top of some passed out drunk person. I just remember walking into the living room and stopping dead and my tracks and saying "Oh God..." and just staring at everything. I wasn't pissed about all the people or the mess (even though the place was spotless when I left!), but my TV? I opted to not freak out and start yelling and just picked up the television, inspected it (it is just fine), and go on to bed and hope it was better when I woke up... but not before I took a picture of the scene. Had a talk with Codey about it the next day, resolved the issue. I did notice at least, and am very thankful for, that Codey took my expensive Lithium Picnic print down off the wall and put it away. If something had happened to that print it would have been hellfire that morning.
Here is the picture for a better visualization:
Yeaaahhh, haha.
Hm.
Glad tonight is my last night of work for a few days. Destin is coming over Monday night. =) I think things are going well between us.
