This is my first attempt at a blog of any kind, lol so bear with me.

So I have been reading the Song of Fire and Ice (better know as the Game of Thrones) and it has made me want to try my hand at writing. I have wanted to try and write fiction for awhile now and these books have awoken my imagination in whole new ways. I have found it extremely difficult to write fiction though.

I have been told that I am a good writer in the academic sense. A professor at Iowa State University once told me that I had a talent in making my papers on historical subjects entertaining to read. I should clarify, that I have a degree in History and in Anthropology and have written my fair share of historical papers as an undergrade.

I guess the subject of this blog, is to ask for advice from this world. I know that this website is full of artistic people, writers, etc, and any help that can be offered to assist a beginner at fiction writing would be greatly appreciated!
