My heart goes out to all our friends across the ocean. We are one. To hell with these cowards who perpetrated these atrocities. They cannot win over minds on the merits of their ideals and vision for a better world. They argue only for hell on earth and the only means they have to win the argument is murder.
...I've been thinking about my old man a lot.
He taught me so much and there are times I sure wish to hell he was still here so I could tell him.
We saw this legendary, amazing, beautiful lady last night here in DC. She's been on tour doing solo shows and is almost done. If you are in Germany, Denmark, Sweden or the UK, I highly suggest catching her before her tour is over. :-)

Montreal just demolished Toronto, so we get the Pink Cows, errr...sorry, Red Bulls. :-) Impact plays Columbus. Montreal, with Drogba, may be the team to beat.

The Cards were my first team when I lived in Memphis early on as a kid. But we moved to Atlanta in '69, the year the Amazing Mets went all the way, but first winning the pennant from the Braves. SO... these days I'm an NL East guy through and through. First the Braves and now the Nats. A Mets-Cubs NLCS would be worth seeing. But they have some work to do in LA first!

After too many days in a sterile hotel in Rosemont I had to bail out tonight and head into the city a little way. First stop, my favorite namesake indie book store. Check them out at www.quimbys.com
Next stop, Handlebar for a veggie dinner of Pierogies washed down with Two Brothers "Atom Smasher" Oktoberfest. Very tasty. I feel much better now!
