Hmm. Lots has happened, but I feel only slightly inclined to write. Nevertheless, here goes.

Friday found me and the eldest son at the 9:30 Club to see Billy Corgan. I was never much of a Pumpkins fan, but he is, to a degree, so I was lucky and scored tix when the went on sale a couple months back.

The show was good. Visually very interesting- a light wall behind BC and the band that was like a bunch of giant pixels. Very cool. The musicermnot sure I get his angsthis schitck whatever it isor isnt. He doesnt emote a lot as far as I can tell. Guess Im from the school if you are going to sing how you feel, do it with gusto.

Two opening acts, Doris Henson and Crimea. Ill pass on Crimeaone of their lines as my son pointed out was Like lottery winners on acid. That about sums it up. Doris Henson though- very accessible, wry power pop stuff. The lead singer/guitarist reminds one some of Beck. These guys could go far.

In the random pop culture observations department: WTF is it with Tom Cruise? Now that shilling for Scientology is his full time gig, will anyone pay attention? What a maroon, to quote Bugs Bunny. Iv e always thought him an arrogant a-hole, and now, hes a cult-proselytizing nut case to boot. Go away. Please.

In the weather department: summer is here and it has been luscious. Only hit 90 once or twice. Still biking into work most everyday. I hope I can keep it up during the dog days.

Well, thats about all I am good for. Peace.

Do you think Tom will star in a remake of Battlefield Earth now. Scientology isn't over the edge yet but most of those folks could spit into the abyss with out much trouble. wink
