Re: the truck situation.
We finally found a very nice '99 Ford Ranger with low miles for the boy. Good price from a private owner. No dealer haggling or hassling. Whew. Yay...no more hassles in a 3 driver family with only 2 cars!
Here's the interesting part of the story. The people selling the truck were the parents of a 17 year old teenager also a Sr. in high school. The young son was having the truck sold out from under him by mom and dad due to a "demostrated lack of maturity" - translation- he was partying way too hard and flunking his Sr. year. All things told, I could not have found a better deal on a truck nor a more timely life lesson for my own youngster. I have no doubt he understood the message, through and through.
And yes, winter is finally here BIG TIME. Wax them sticks and hit the slopes!!!

Oh yeah, and we're finally getting our first storm, so I'll probably do half a day at work, then hit the slopes for the rest of the day. I live in ski country, so it's only fifteen minutes to the slopes!

A lot of the ski trails are no longer groomed here, by the county. So I go up with snow shoes stomp in a trail, ski it for a week or so then it snows so I have to do it again, and so it goes. I'm getting to old for this !
