UPDATE, 10/28:
While I am hoping for at least an indictment of Scooter Libby and even better Karl Rove as my Birthday present,
the withdrawal of the Miers nomination has been beyond hilarious to behold. The Reds are feeding on themselves. How lovely a sight is that? Now that you KNOW the lunatics are running the asylum, what are YOU going to do about it? Peace.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The big, noxious noise generated by the current Republican infighting over the Miers nomination and the difficulties of Mr. Delay (could this all have happened to a nicer guy?), Dr. Frist (Ms. Schiavo is not a vegetable) Mr. Rove and Mr. Libby is rather delicious to behold.
As the Bush frat-boy management style of running the White House and the country (appoint your buddies to all the plum jobs and make sure they continue to kiss your ass instead of telling you the truth) comes home to roost, we will undoubtedly expect more of this.
However, this is no time to gloat. Where is the strategy to take advantage of all this and take back at least the Senate in '06? So far, the Dems response is....can anyone tell me? Maybe I am not paying close enough attention, but I have yet to see a cohesive strategy emerge. Part of the problem is that there is no clear leader in the mold of Newt Gingrich in the Democratic party.
Lots of factions and no single united voice. That's what brought the Republicans together. Lots of discipline and a united purpose. The Dems need to get it together FAST or I fear they risk squandering this opportunity.
What do ya'll think?
