My marathon stream yesterday was a major success. :) I actually made it 18 hours (minus six minutes but the game I was playing didn't have anything I could do in that little time and I was tired so screw it) and more than doubled my channel views. I also gained six new followers raising my total to 20. The best part though was meeting a pretty well known streamer in chat and having an awesome conversation about gaming and the gaming community. I guess I made a good impression on him because he asked followers to raid my channel. All of a sudden I had a bunch of people in chat all typing out awesome messages with the tag !raid. It was so cool to get so much love from the twitch community. I know a lot of streamers get a lot of guff from hateful members (I've seen it first hand) so that just made it even more special. I may have to keep doing this streaming thing for a long time now. :)
The only negative (if you could call it that) was that I didn't receive any donations for Extra Life but honestly, that's okay. I think everybody that viewed my channel yesterday was watching me for the first time so they probably didn't even know about it. I'm very hopeful that if I can keep this up then someone, somewhere will be able to open their hearts and help punch cancer in it's turkey neck!
All in all, a great day for me. One of the few I've had since I got injured.
