My life almost came to an end a couple of days ago.
No, I don't mean that I was close to taking a knife across a vein I meant that my wife and I almost split up.
We're having a lot of financial problems right now and they are piling up fast. Because I'm the only one working I pretty much have to take care of them all myself but it has become pretty well impossible at this point. My wife's car is dead in the water and will cost about $1,200 to fix. Not only that but our old landlord hit is with a $500+ bill for repairs that weren't necessary/our fault and if that wasn't bad enough my wife informed me that a another $1,200 bill for an MRI our insurance was supposed to cover but didn't is about to go to collections. I don't make that much. Needless to say the stress of having to try and figure out how to make a dollar out of fifteen cents we ended up having a fight that lasted almost three days. My wife isn't working and I when all of this went down my brain decided to take that personally. When I confronted her about why she won't work her reasons (I won't get into details for privacy reasons) I assumed were fake even though I've known damn well for the last three years were really valid. Suffice it to say she didn't take that well. Fortunately, with a lot of talking, a lot of help from our families and some personal time to decompress we got our heads screwed back on straight and my wife took the plunge and got a phone interview for a call center position. The interview went really well and she has an in person interview next week. I've made it a point to give her as much positive support as I can and let her know that I really am proud of her for stepping out on the ledge. We need to be together and that means I can't forget who she really is no matter what goes wrong around me. I'm really grateful she saw it in her heart to forgive me and take on this new challenge and I'm going to do whatever it takes to help her in this latest chapter in the book we call life.
