A couple of months back a low income apartment literally fell into our lap. My wife decided to sign up for it and I pretty ignored it when she told me about it because I figured it was a fool's errand. I mean come on, only 60 units? And they're holding a lottery? In this economy? No fucking way we'll get in.
Well as it turns out I'm the asshole because we got picked.
So all this week and one day last week we have been buried under a mountain of paperwork getting approved for this fucking apartment. The part of this process I was really worried about was the credit check because my credit sucks really big donkey balls but that didn't stop us. We passed that part but we have to pay extra deposit and now they are verifying my income to ensure that we qualify for the low-income part of the apartment. That I'm not worried about at all so even though the manager is being very non-committal I'm 99 and 4/100% sure we've got this place. Sadly, we still have to wait for everything to be official before we can make any plans for moving.
We hate waiting.
