Its been one of the shittiest weeks I've had in a long time. At Fanime I bought a model of the Gundam Exia from Gundam 00.
Last night whilst putting it together I snapped the right arm which now just dangles in the air. This sucks because the model is supposed to be fully poseable but I can't pose it now because the arm will just hang at a downward angle. I tried super gluing the broken pieces but the glue didn't hold for some reason so I'm not sure what's left that I can do. You can't just order the new part you have to buy a whole new kit which is made only in Japan.
Tried to get back on the sim racing train over at iRacing but so far that has been an absolute disaster. In four events I have crashed four time. My iRating plummeted from 1330 down to just over 1000. The worst part is three of the four incidents weren't my fault at all. The latest was getting rammed on the pace lap from behind by someone who forgot where the brake pedal was. My resulting spin sent me into three other cars. I left the race in embarrassment. Just before that on the first lap a slower class car decided to try and block me for some reason thinking we were on the same pace. Instead of backing off and trying to get around them after the corner I decided to force the issue around the outside, got one wheel on the grass and slid off the track smacking a wall. Before that some yahoo went diving down the inside of turn one at Lime Rock park way too fast and locked up the brakes. They slid into me, shoved me into another car I was racing against and we all spun. My left front was toast and I limped her back into the pits and retired. The first incident was also at Lime Rock park. I was trying to pass on the inside of some lap traffic when one of them suddenly (and inexplicably) swung back onto the racing line and clobbered my right front snapping my steering arm. Needless to say I limped (again) back into the pits and retired from the race. I went back to my favorite racing sim site, Race2play but the only races available were for tracks I have never driven on and I couldn't scrape together enough practice time to learn the course so I didn't even get to enter that race.
Sleep has eluded me as well. From Tuesday to Thursday I slept for a grand total of three or four hours and not all in a row. The heat was simply more than I could handle and although I was constantly tired I just lay there in a puddle of my own sweat unable to sleep. I had to call in Wednesday night so on top of this other great drama I've lost a day of work.
The only bright spot was being able to fuck my wife like a mad beast yesterday after my parents picked up our daughter for the weekend. There was much spanking, hair pulling, scratching and even a little biting. It was crazy hot.
Maybe I'll do it again. Or maybe I'll just crawl into a hole and wait for the week to end. Either one works for me.
