The day after tomorrow is the new year and I'm not so sure how I feel about bidding farewell to 2011. Its been a crazy year for me. My father passed away in February about a week before my birthday. It was the same day I heard that I'd been hired at Namco and I was excited to tell him but of course, he never heard the news. Our junky-ass Mazda failed for the final time and my wife sold off her old Mustang which left us with no car. I was actually happy to be rid of the cars but my wife wasn't. We did, however find an alternative to getting around in ZipCar and that has been working pretty well for us. My ex-wife finally saw my current wife and our daughter in action together and it softened her heart somewhat. They still don't like each other but the respect level kicked up a notch or two I could tell. Better than nothing. And all throughout the year I've been drawing like crazy, enough that I started to make a comic that someday I'll post to the web. Not sure when but hopefully soon. Last but not least I somehow managed to get my Youtube account enabled for monetezation. Not sure if that means I'm a partner, I think it does but oh well, we'll see. I haven't gotten a dime yet but these things take time so I'm in no rush. Got other things to worry about first.
2012 is going to be interesting. At least one major change is already in the works, the move up north to Humboldt County. We're hoping for Eureka but again, we'll see. If we get another car I'd like to make the thing all electric so we don't have to pay for gas anymore. The best mode of transportation will always be a bicycle but so far I'm the only one with the strength and stamina to ride a bike useful distances. My daughter certainly has the desire but she's only 7 going on 8 so it'll be a while before she's ready to keep up with dear old dad. My wife still wants a car of course. I don't blame her but with gas prices, corporate greed and the damage to the environment I just can't justify owning cars anymore. They're too expensive and too destructive compared to the convenience they offer in my mind.
Anyway that's about it for now. More Youtube videos planned, I bought a new costume for what I'm calling my "Sexy (rhymes with witch) challenge for men." Instead of just focusing on religion I decided to branch out and challenge the social stereotypes and gender roles that just flat refuse to die. Happy new years gals and guys, type atcha all next year!
