Another holiday season is coming to a close and with it a chapter in my life. The wife and I are saying good bye to the bay area for (literally) greener pastures. We've decided to shack up in Eureka CA which is about 330 miles north of where I live now. The smog, the noise and light pollution and the general way-too-fast pace of life in the bay area has taken its toll on us to the point where it's affecting our health. I have lived here for most of my life so packing up and moving isn't going to be easy but its time for a change for all of us. I know my daughter is excited about the move because we'll be closer to my parents (her grandparents spoil her like royalty!) and my wife has been chomping at the bit to move up there ever since she first visited. I resisted for a while but now that my father is no longer of this world to be completely honest I really don't want to stay anymore. Its going to be tough moving that far but I know we can do it.
Speaking of the holidays ours were pretty awesome. The Sunday before X-mas we let our daughter open the presents we got for her and my stepdad paid us a visit. The following Friday we were up in Eureka with the rest of my family and celebrated again. Naturally my daughter got a ton more presents and my mom even surprised me and my wife with gifts! We didn't do a whole heck of a lot, got pics with Santa of course and me and the wifey stole away into the woods for a private hike and love making. I swear we're wood nymphs at heart, every time we find ourselves alone in a forest we make love, its awesome!
And now for the post-X-Mas slump. Happy New Year everybody!
