I'm about as depressed as I've ever been right now. My lady love's car was overheating not too long back. An air bubble had gotten into the cooling system and was causing tempurature spikes. I did my best to get rid of the air and I eventually succeeded but it was too litle too late. The head gasket gave out yesterday and now the car is totally dead in the water. In a way I kind of blame myself but at the same time I couldn't have done anything else to prevent it. A friend of mine is selling us her old car for $2K, its a '99 Honda Civic EX. It's in pretty good condition and has 160K miles on it. I did the brakes on it and changed tires on it a couple of years ago so I know the rotors are good. The tires might need to go but that's not a big deal. As for Wyldesage's Cobra it is going to spend a few months at her cousin's house. He offered to fix it for us and thinks that the head gasket won't be a big deal. I'm not so sure but I'm also not en engine expert. However, he also offered to fix just about anything else it needs. He said just buy the parts and we'll discuss labor later. Since we've bought a few of the parts already that's not a problem. Now we just need a head gsket kit, intake manifold gasket kit, pcv valve, a/c hoses, headlight assemblies, drive belt, water pump, radiator, differential gasket, transmission fluid, oil and filter, o2 sensors (all four!), maybe one or two catalytic convertors, front struts, strut plate bearings and a tire. Ugh. If we can get all that done for a good price then we'll have a practically brand new car but if something more extensive needs to be done like a complete engine rebuild then we just sell it. We haven't decided yet but considering how much heart and soul we've put into this little beastie I'm starting to doubt we'll get rid of it. I've tried finding another Mustang like it and they're hard to find. They're worth a fair amount too so it's not like we can just buy another one. I feel really bad but those are dice we've been thrown. Time to place our bets.
For those of you who don't know anything about me at all I decided to write a novel. It's actually going well and I'm already up to chapter three. I've already made some significant changes to the outline and the world is evolving slowly but it's still kicking around in my mind. I'm watching the world around us and seeing how climate change is wrecking havoc with our ecosystems and I'm constantly reminded that the world I'm writing could very well happen. It's kind of scary actually. The Earth I'm creating has near constant storm activity over the lower United States. The equator is really the only place warm enough and cool enough to live and the storms. The northern ice cap is over a mile high and extends southward to the southern boarder of Canada. The southern hemisphere is almost all desert and temperatures break 150 F in the summertime. Starting to sound familiar?
My dad just got wheeled away to the hospitol again. It's his first trip since Feberuary but he's about as bad as he's ever been in fact I think this time has been the worst. We were forced to call an ambulance because obviously, no car to drive him there. He's going to a closer hospitol than the one he usually goes to, hopefully they'll make something happen for him.

I dont know what to say about your dad, you know...
Thanks for the blog comment. It's true, there are so many possibilities haha! I don't plan on being completely ridiculous, but I told him I require at least a couple solid hours of attention.
