i've been a bit cheeky today....
i've been writing a new track and nicked a little bit of rahzel beatboxing from the new bjork album
i've fiddled with it- so you couldn't recognize it was bjork, unless of course you had read this!
i've also nicked a bit of blair witch- which has made the track turn a little to the dark side...

finally a journal that won't mention ntl..... (that time didn't count, ok)
hope you are all well and good and have lots of exciting things coming up over the weekend.
today i had to drop some things off for one of the promoters i work for, at warp records in kentish town (for those of you not in the know: they are the label responsible...

Yeah - I couldn't keep still; if my head wasn't moving in time some other part of my body was.
I hovered at the bar at first until I recognised a couple of faces. It's always daunting meeting new people who already know each other but they were a nice bunch - few that they were - so no probs there.
The Ship is on Wardour St. - I haven't there myself yet but must have have walked past many times (didn't even know there were any pubs on the street
). But as there is so much going on later this month & in Oct, I will be making up for lost time - provided I can afford it! any particular meets you intend going to?

Vinyl addiction is a nasty habit!
i'm back...
my favourite people NTL cut me off on saturday so obviously i've not been able to update my journal. for the past 10 months since i got connected..my tv picture has consistantly cut out so i have had engineer after engineer round my house to try and resolve the problem. finally a couple of weeks back they decided i needed the wires replaced...

shit broken, I reckon it's gotta be time for BT. It just can't be worth all this raised blood pressure.
hello sweet things.....
well plaid were incredible! such a shame the sound system didn't do them the justice they deserved. this is the 4th time i've seen them now and i do wish they would play a little more like their albums suggest they might. every time i see them i don't recognise 60% of the set and it's kind of a full on hardcore...

I will make sure that there's a kettle there for you. I've already recruited a quiz master and apparently October will be a regular. Think I might have to charge at the door....make it a private members club with waiters wearing smoking jackets!
Take care.
Take care.

i am listening to the new bjork album as we speak! it is everything a bjork album should be, haunting and sexy and surreal and beautiful. she brings out the pagan in me.
love the bjork!

i'm going to see plaid in a few hours and i can't wait!!!
i'm really curious to find out where this festival is. i can only imagine its on the wasteland by kings cross where they are building the euro tunnel link (or whatever it is they are supposed to be building there)

Ladybelmont and I decided we are going to come move to the UK so we can party with you, we don't get to see shows like that here. Derrick Carter is my favorite DJ in the world, I got to meet him once in Seattle. I used to own a record store on the ave. My friend flew Derrick in to play a 6 hour set for us, the next day he came in my store and autographed my tone theory 12"
Have fun, Im jealous
Want to trade some mixed CDs?

plaid?!!! i'm so envious of your accessibilty to my favorite band next to tortoise and other peeps on the ninja tune label. most of the kickass shows seem to be in europe, dammit!
i heard a new movie is coming out "hamburg lights"?? or something like that (i only heard the title in passing). it's about the point of view of the highjackers from 9/11. i think this is so important to see. over here in america, but most americans wouldn't be able to handle a movie that provokes thought; most have to be spoonfed their ideas. half the people in america don't even know what the fuck is going on anyway..they are just consumed with fear. it makes me feel trapped, but to lighten the situation, i'm designing a shit to wear to the polls on election day that will read, " if you vote for bush, you're either rich or insane!!!" i hope to spark some people's triggers with this one.

Hello. I don't know how long ago you requested my friendship or why for that manner, but I'd love to get to know you.
hello again
would someone please do me a massive favour?
would somebody go to camden and burn 'vinyl addiction' and 'know how records' down to the ground please!
both shops have come to learn my taste in music so well that every time i go in they give me a stupidly large pile of records to listen to...of which 60 percent are amazing!.....what's the problem...

You sound just like my husband Clovesbud. He's got a vinyl addiction that's just plain great. Lately, he's been not buying records because of a bit of a tight spell, but I know the second he gets a wad of cash he'll run STRAIGHT to Amoeba (here in Los Angeles) and just lose his mind because there's SO MUCH GREAT MUSIC in the world.
forkandles:
You're welcome.
I have the problem with books and records ..... If I go near a shop selling either I'm in trouble

Sorry to hear about your flatmats dad, I know it's no help but it's just the way of the world; kids should outlive their parents. My mum died when I was 21 and I took it pretty hard, but these things are a part of life.
The things that I remember most are when people said how sorry they were to hear. Some people just never mentioned it ....
Anyway, thanks for the tracklisting - I thought I recognised the Orbital track. I like the CD so thanks again.
I have a Roland R8, do you know how much they are worth these days?

Thank you for your words in my journal- I was really touched.
and i'm feeling a lot better now.
I really hope that your flatmate is ok: any experience of death seems to put things back into perspective sharpish. i'm sure you being around and her knowing that you're there will be comfort to her.
dude, you have excellent taste in music i may add: orb, lamb, bjork, orbital...i am very impressed
do you use vinyl when you dj/listen at home? my partner in crime and housemate october think that stuff's pretty neat but have no clue about it!! like today i was in a virgin megastore and I was trying to listen to a record and was failing miserably. why? because, as the guy in the shop pointed out, there was no frickin needle- d'oh!!
tres embarrassament...
Educate me!! [if you have the time/inclination of course]

Apparently la Hasselhoff has well been doing the rounds at the moment. The guy is such a freak, he looks like he's basted himself. What's he doing here?!

you should see the rejects if you think that ones bad.
been working on a new track today (if anyones interested) using a tears for fears sample. i was well into them as a kid and it makes my spine tingle when i hear the loop i nicked playing over and over. i actually started the track last friday but had...
