11/11/18. It's not just Veterans' Day (AKA Armistice Day). For me, it also happens to be the third anniversary of my cancer surgery. Like Lance Armstrong, I had testicular cancer. Fortunately, I only needed surgery and have been in remission since.
Guys, do yourselves a favor and do your monthly checks. If you don't know how to check for the signs of testicular cancer, google it, ask your doc/PCP, etc. It's that important. Caught early, surgery will take care of it. But even a late diagnosis is usually able to be successfully treated with radiation and/or chemotherapy after the initial surgery.
