Welcome to my world, man. It's been 90+ degrees here in Denver for beaucoup unbearable days! 103 temp on Sunday was enough to turn the souls of my shoes to black taffy! Gaah!! (Thank goodness for swamp-coolers and microbrews!)

Well, from what I know of the rather eccentric Monsieur Henri Rousseau (the artist that did the painting in my journal), he was a product of the Industrial Revolution -- though he seemed pretty fixated on the "exotic orient" and Africa. Whatever his intention, the painting is just plain WEIRD...in a lovable sort of way.

You're right, though...smokestacks just DO NOT jibe with our modern sensibilities. (Unless you live in New Jersey, of course.)

why thankye. went to a club last night in that. it was fun. i didn't get hit on, but i felt good.

haha. my friend said i should have just gone up to guys and said "so when are you going to buy me a drink" but i'm shy. some people seemed like they were looking, but, nope, no hitting on me. i'm apparently really unapproachable. we went to this newish place down town called Pala. they play techno and have tvs showing the fashion network. it's funny. but the dj is fucking incredible.

Understood. Well my intentions are honorable. I'm not looking for anything. That's why that guy stormed off. Well.. I wouldn't want anything with him even if I was looking... but whatever.

hey. i was out of town visiting my dad who just had heart surgery. on the way to the airport i forgot my purse at the MAX and some guy found it and called my parents using my phone and said he had it. when i got ahold of him, he asked me for fifty bucks and i told him i was a student and that i don't have that kind of money, but could i get him a drink when i got back into town. he said that because he was SUCH a nice person (because this OBVIOUSLY couldn't be expected of the average human) that he would return it to reed because he found my student id. But he never did. when i got back two nights ago, my car was gone. the police said it had been towed and when i picked it up there was nothing in it (i had just brought a load of things from my old house to my new and hadn't unpacked before leaving). the doors were open but nothing was damaged except that change tray which had been ripped out. so it looks like the guy found my car by driving around and looking for cali plates and the make and model that was on the valet key. Sweet. i don't care much about my stuff, but it's such an invasion and it really freaks me out.

so... can we take that ride and get that drink soon?
