I so have nothing to report. I think I am in a full state of depression about having to continue my current job and at not having got the new job.

3 job interviews in 6 months and no luck yet. Sigh.... big heavy sigh....

This was the last year at the Reserve and it will be at Crosswater (Sunriver) next year.

What kind of job are you looking for? I'm in the same situation myself and it sucks.

You know this whole internet thing is so new I don't think we really know how it will effect or change our culture over any sort of significant period of time... but what is interesting to think about is that it is entirely possible that much if not all of the stuff that I have written across various computer systems, on blogs, usenet, email (corporate,...

The Dog House is that little hot dog stand in the parking lot where Wild Oats is on E Burnside. They have a yummy vegan chili dog.

Sucks about the car crash. Are you feeling better?
lyris:
aren't you sweet. i got it done anyway i think. it just took five people and about three hours.

Two blinds up... on my way. 7 more ordered from Home Depot but probably about 2 weeks till they are here and installed. Hopefully no more heat waves till then!

We are debating the blinds for the living/dining room still but I think we have it narrowed down. Just gotta come up with the cash.

Thursday we were out for Last Thursday up on Alberta....

Oh sweet freaking mother of jesus this god damn heat wave has to got to pass.....

bah... sooooooo spoiled for 6 years with AC I just forgot what this is like. I guess it is good to be uncomfortable and suffer once in awhile. It humbles you and reminds you of how good you have it when you rectify the situation.

BUT IN THE MEANTIME...

Welcome to my world, man. It's been 90+ degrees here in Denver for beaucoup unbearable days! 103 temp on Sunday was enough to turn the souls of my shoes to black taffy! Gaah!! (Thank goodness for swamp-coolers and microbrews!)

Well, from what I know of the rather eccentric Monsieur Henri Rousseau (the artist that did the painting in my journal), he was a product of the Industrial Revolution -- though he seemed pretty fixated on the "exotic orient" and Africa. Whatever his intention, the painting is just plain WEIRD...in a lovable sort of way. smile

You're right, though...smokestacks just DO NOT jibe with our modern sensibilities. (Unless you live in New Jersey, of course.) wink

Yeah, GOTTA have blinds! What will the neighbors think!?! smile

Well... well...well..

I think I am living amongst the fastest gentrification of a neighborhood I have ever seen...

Case in point, of the 9 houses immediately around mine 7 have sold within the last 12 months (5 in the last 3 months) at much higher prices than the neighborhood used to get AND all to people in their 30's and predomintly white.

Second. There are...

I've always been conflicted about the gentrification of Portland's "black neighborhoods."

I dunno.

Hope you're living in a place you love, anyway. We really ought to hang out again someday, you know that? I keep saying that, don't I?

FINALLY!

So about 18 months ago I bought this wireless router from a buddy at work who just bought a new one. I figured it was good enough for what I needed and set about setting it up.

First of all it did not like my DSL. God knows why but I could not get the two of them to play well together for anything....

lyris:
haha. my friend said i should have just gone up to guys and said "so when are you going to buy me a drink" but i'm shy. some people seemed like they were looking, but, nope, no hitting on me. i'm apparently really unapproachable. we went to this newish place down town called Pala. they play techno and have tvs showing the fashion network. it's funny. but the dj is fucking incredible.

God has it been that long since I posted???

Well let's see, just had the girls family over for dinner. I have mixed feelings about that but it was important to her. I was not sure if the wisdom of having her family over when we seem on the verge of the end...

it is her birthday this week also.

Job interview tomorrow. Not sure...

Understood. Well my intentions are honorable. I'm not looking for anything. That's why that guy stormed off. Well.. I wouldn't want anything with him even if I was looking... but whatever.
sluttygoodgirl:
Hey cutie wink

That must have been weird to have the girls parents there if it's not really going anywhere.......does she know it's on it's last legs too?

I hope your job interview went well today smile I have a place where you can hide out and lay low kiss

Dad's day. The whole family came over this morning and I cooked breakfast for everyone and then I cleaned for every one..

sheesh I am exhausted now. Time to sit back and relax with a old Fellini movie. Was supposed to be sunny today but kind of glad it is not. Just feel kind of like vegging and not doing anything. If it was sunny...

hey. i was out of town visiting my dad who just had heart surgery. on the way to the airport i forgot my purse at the MAX and some guy found it and called my parents using my phone and said he had it. when i got ahold of him, he asked me for fifty bucks and i told him i was a student and that i don't have that kind of money, but could i get him a drink when i got back into town. he said that because he was SUCH a nice person (because this OBVIOUSLY couldn't be expected of the average human) that he would return it to reed because he found my student id. But he never did. when i got back two nights ago, my car was gone. the police said it had been towed and when i picked it up there was nothing in it (i had just brought a load of things from my old house to my new and hadn't unpacked before leaving). the doors were open but nothing was damaged except that change tray which had been ripped out. so it looks like the guy found my car by driving around and looking for cali plates and the make and model that was on the valet key. Sweet. i don't care much about my stuff, but it's such an invasion and it really freaks me out.

so... can we take that ride and get that drink soon?

navigation.. navigation.. navigation.

I think I like all the items in the new setup and it is obvious that a lot work has gone into this but I just do not know if I have the time/energy right now to sort it all out.

Sorry I have not been responding to journals. I can barely fill out my own... time. time is what I need...
