i went of the grid for a few days. it was cleansing. i hope your interviewing stuff is going better. i handed out little toys and stickers to the kids. and no, they didn't hate me. and then i went to a friend's house and watched house and listened to NIN, which made me a happy duckling.

Actually something else has popped up on the Safeway front. I was scared to mention it because I was positive about it. They are thinking about making me the Front End Manager there. Which would include a guaranteed 40 hrs a week. Plus journymen pay which is $15.70 compared to $8.36 an hour. Which is what I make there right now. My manager confirmed today that I am going to the training. But I'm still weary about it because are store doesn't really have the hours. If I need to I'll just tell them to transfer me to a store that does and needs a front end manager. Wish me luck.

I can't believe how much you're used to making. I averaged $21,000 last year and that's because I'm pulling two jobs. Jesus Christ. Obvisiouly I'm doing something wrong. But hey, I just got a raise from Safeway from $8.07 to $8.36 and Mallard Landing from $8.76 to $9.01. Sadly I've been with Safeway for 3 years in January. This month is a year with Mallard. Unions are fucking bullshit!

Hey sorry for taking so long to get back to you, I'm rarely on SG anymore.

Yeah, it was probably me, but with short hair.

My Buddhism is mostly a self practice, part of that is due to the lack of Theravadin temples in Portland. There are some Vipassana groups, but that's not all that I'm looking for. I have visited Abhayagiri Buddhist Monastery in CA, which is Theravadin in the Thai Forest Tradition.. My husband is also a Buddhist, and better read than me, so we bounce a lot off eachother.
