Thanks for the advice! I tried for a few hours the "old fashioned way" but I couldn't get past anything in the Inner Sanctum. I guess the weakness of a wizard finally came through. Anyway, I had to cheat to pass. But it was worth the closure and end to my frustration.
Well I have settled into the idea that I may be far wealthier than I ever imagined in the future. But for now that is a few years away and nothing to fret about. So I just sit back and live my life and think about how it might change..

Actually, I think you are more correct than me. I think we are referring to the very same documentary although I recalled it as something genetic and hereditary rather than immunological.
RE: Paladins and Lone Quests.
Paladins are capable certainly. I think they come up a little short on the spell side though. Unless - as is now allowed in 3rd Edition - you go Anti-Paladin (Blackguard, Death Knight) and you get some fun control over the undead as opposed to just destroying them.
Monks in 3rd Edition are now a proper class by themselves as opposed to an sub-class of Cleric, and are also very capable. They may not get spells but they get so many good saving throws and immunities. Furthermore if you pick a race that is magic-resisant (like Dwarf), then you are even tougher to hurt. Personally, I just like the whole Shaolin Monk-Jet Li thing.
