so today, for just one split moment I did wonder...

as I stood on the edge of the curb and the Max went by. It did cross my mind for one moment. All you would have to do is just step out, one little step right in front of this thing and nothing could stop it. You would be crushed instantly. No pain, no delay,...

Anything good going on?

Edited to add:

3 weeks into new workout routine and I have dropped 7lbs. biggrin

5 more to go. Never made it back to that weight in...

Monday's, is there something good to be said?

Well at least it is quieter than I thought it would be today at work considering my assistant is out (her child is very sick so she had to stay home).

let's just get to the end of today with no fanfare shall we?

yeah that would be cute, but I think the painting sets have been done to death. Besdies, we're using an oil based paint lol and that would be a bitch to wash off.

OMG you have an assistant? Fuck, you've got a good career. Right?

bridgetwnpeddler:
way too easy, the data is in different formats the strings will not match..

one export from Peoplesoft (HR) and one from Exchange (mail directory).

actually one of my projects for 2005 is to bring these two directories into synch across all 5 companies under CNF. ugggghhhh

disaster was narrowly avoided today at work...

I will spare you the boring details but suffice it to say the recovery is going to cost me about 30 hours of my weekend.

uggggghhhh skull
ryan:
that sucks... had said disaster occured would you weekend be more sucky than it sounds like it will be??
tiffanymarie:
You should make it out to Crystal Ballroom saturday night. Menomena and others are playing starting at 9pm. $5 to get in the door. They are well worth any penny! Spare sometime on Menomena!

you just cannot imagine. Not even close..

You never imagine the demons you were fighting at 17, 22, 27, etc.... would be the same in your mid 30's.

you would think I could overcome something everyone else finds so simple...

and yet it escapes me, as much today as it did 20 years ago.

it really leaves me feeling..

futile

6am is when Safeway opens. Therefore there needs to be a courtesy clerk there at that hour to start cleaning. Literally, we open the store I go" 'round up the carts" collect the trash in the parking lot, then empty the trashes outside and inside. After that I have to clean the bathrooms and so on. I have the bitch job and get paid minimum wage for it. While the checkers don't have to deal with cleaning up shit in the restrooms, they still get paid more then me. Fucking assholes!
beatrice:
everybody has their demons they can't shake. they're just different kinds of demons.

so depressed.

been watching this show Six Feet Under with a friend (first two seasons on DVD). and saw this episode about someone who died all alone...

very depressing..

but made me think.

If I died today, it might be weeks before anyone really noticed and came to see what was up and if I was alive.

And those who found me, I don't know...

Okay so "On the Road" was a bit of a slow go for me. Not sure, but it just did not resonate with me and I really felt like I was slogging through it.

I hope Catcher in the Rye sparks my interest more than that.

Today is a good Sunday, lazy, quiet, nice brunch, good reading, making dinner for friends coming over later.

A...

Lucky guy! I had to work this morning at 6am and it came awfully early. I was yawning and trying to keep my eyes open for the most part of the day.

Reading sounds enjoyable but so does snuggling with my sweetie. I think I'd rather do that. A good dinner with company sounds wonderful as well. Enjoy you're fine evening sweetheart.

P.S. Thanks for the comment on my profile picture. Very uplifting I must say.
beatrice:
that's how i felt about that book too. the dharma bums was so much better.
if you'd rather not invest in a friendship with me that'll be ok. just let me know and i'll stop hasseling you.
