Hey everybody. Good news/Bad news blog today.
The show Wednesday went great again. A couple of small mistakes here and there, but nothing terrible. After all, it was only my second show. My program director loved it (again). I got great feedback from him on it and I felt on top of the world when I was done. As always, if you want to listen it's every Wednesday from 8:00am to Noon eastern time at this link.
Class on Wednesday went well too. We've been working on putting together a 10 minute newscast that we're going to film on January 8th and our day was pretty productive. I think it's gonna end up being a pretty good newscast.
I got home to find out that my uncle in Pennsylvania took a turn for the worse and he didn't have much time left. My Uncle Dave is one of my heroes. He did a lot for me as I was growing up and then was a major part of my children's lives. I can't stress enough the impact he's had on my life and all the great, great memories I had with him. Anyways, my mom, uncle Ben, my girlfriend, and myself made the drive Wednesday night back to Johnstown, PA to be with him. Thankfully, I was able to tell him one last time how much I loved and lokked up to him and I thanked him for everything. He let go and passed on a little after 6:00am on Thursday. It's hit me pretty hard. He had been sick and in the hospital for a while, but it just never occurred to me that he wouldn't make it. He was always so strong over the years. He was always there. He was never sick or had any major illnesses. No health problems until cancer got him a few months back. I don't know...I've been watching my mom battle cancer for years and, to an extent, she's winning. I guess I felt he could do the same.
I don't even know what else to say. I just sat here and stared blankly at the screen for a few minutes. I apologize to everyone for the sadness in my blog today. I'll update you more next week after my next show and school week are done.
If I don't talk to you before then, I hope everyone has a great holiday.
