Use commonsence, or just shoot yourself in the foot

Common sense, have we lost it as a whole? Not only as Americans but everybody everywhere. We Americans are so reliant on the media giving us our information we often forget the people in our own neighborhoods and in our everyday lives. We are subject to importing everyday products that have a shelf life longer than a year. Is that right? Should that be possible or accepted? We have become the ultimate brainwashed consumer race, letting media make opinions for us. Buying because we think that's what we work for. Using because we can. Conserving our money only for future purchases. I am guilty, we all are guilty. But am I only one of the few that sees these horrifying facts?
I wonder when we celebrate pastimes like "NASCAR" which promotes the fall of our planet on the smallest scale. Celebrating fossil fuel sucking machines driving in circles while everybody is sucking up massive amounts of electricity to observe this celebration of our own slow demise. Are we that fucking retarded? Do you not see the flaw in making the world a better place by not promoting or celebrating such a negative event?
So all you NASCAR fans do me a favor and shot yourself and help save the planet. Please make sure it's a fatal wound, otherwise your body will be carted around sucking up valuable resources you shouldn't have any right to. (just satire) Because it's these common sense rules that we have lost that will ultimately make the world a better place to live.
And shame on all you people who have 20 pairs of shows. Do you really need a shoe store in your closet? Have you ever thought of donating to those in need instead of fulfilling your own selfish needs? No, you haven't because you don't like to think about it do you? Only me ,me ,me ,me ,me. I'm so happy, look at all this stuff I have. Well you're not going to need it when you die, if you're a materialistic person I suggest investing in rocks and building something that will be here after you die then.
These are just a few examples of everyday bullshit that makes me ashamed to be human, let alone an American consumer. How are we ever going to change the pace that society is set in? Are we going to or will it all have to fall on us and kill us off in order to change? Does anyone see the catch 22?
Shame on me, shame on you, we are all going to die in our toxic stew.
