I have lots of exams. . . but am I studying? Nay. I am not. The goal was to learn French by tomorrow morning. . . that's not going so well. So I thought I'd pour myself a glass of wine and update my blog. Productive, I know.
Off to Spain in 5 days and counting! Hoorah. I can't wait. I have to begin collecting presents for my host. If I want to stay with him, I'm told I must come bearing flake bars and shortbread a-plenty. So that I will do.
Does anyone else think rain is intrinsically romantic? I've always thought so, and apparently Glasgow's perpetual precipitation hasn't completely sucked the soul out of me. Yesterday was cloudy, but with occasional warm moments. Then suddenly an hour or so before sunset, there was an unexpected downpour. The sky was dark and heavy with clouds, and the air redolent with the scent of blossoms and ivy. I pictured myself locking lips with someone under the slick barrage of raindrops. But alas . . . I was alone.
Being in love and ~3000 miles from your partner is hard work in times like these . . . sigh . . .
