My Great Dane Rahaj is really sick, she's 7 yrs old and a really great dog supper sweet and listens well, and she's like the mommy to all the other dogs in my parent's house. She has been limping the last 3 days not putting on presser on her back left leg. We thought she might have hurt her leg playing to rough with one of the dogs, but we brought her to the vet yesterday and it's not from playing with the other dogs at all. It ends up she has bone cancer. And it has been eating away at her left back leg that it's almost all mush, there's not much to do if we amputate her leg there will be way to much pressure on her other back leg and it we get her a prosthetic leg there's a lot of rustics her body could reject it or infection can start. So the vet says our best bet is to keep her on meds and keep upping them and we can try chemotherapy. But it will end up making her very week, and she will loss her apatite and will get very skinny and we need to know when its time so say good bye the vet says we will have to put her down in the next 3 months.
My family and I are very up set last yr she got really sick and almost lost her its very hard to go through she's like part of our family like a sister she's a great dog and I don't want to lose her I'm going to miss her.
I'm just happy we gave her a good home and she had a good life and 7 yrs for a Great Dane is pretty good big breeds are great dogs but do have a short life span.
I<3U Rahaj be strong...
