So yeah, I've had quite a few interesting days lately.

First... I get in a car accident. It was really dumb too. This old haggard, drunk man/woman (couldn't tell for sure) who appeared drunk and had a messed up eye, was driving down the street in front of me. We passed this intersection, and suddenly slammed on its breaks. I managed to slam on my breaks and avoid hitting it, the guy behind me ended up hitting me (besides scooting up on my part in vain) and the chicks in the car behind him ended up hitting him too.

So we all got out of our cars, and everyone was okey (that's really good). We were checking out the damage on everyone's cars, and the old person kept saying that they didn't have any damage on their car, and kept trying to leave. We kept telling him/her that they caused this accident and can't just leave, but they ended up leaving anyway. So, I got their licence plate number and called the cops.

The cops showed up (after a huge wait) and we told him the whole story. The cop says that in NYS it's a law that when you're behind a car, you should be far enough away to allow stopping room, even if the car ahead of you slams on their brakes. This means, that the car that caused this whole incident doesn't even get a ticket, doesn't have to pay anything, nothing happens to them. So basically, what happens is that the guy who hit me has to pay for my car. The chicks that hit him, have to pay for his car. So I am not responsible for anyone's car, and completely off the hook (as is the old haggard drunk manwoman).

My rear bumper is going to have to get fixed. I got the estimate done today, and it's going to be almost $750. I feel really bad for the guy because he was really nice and cool and everything. Oh well, I guess that's the way things go.

It just makes me really mad that someone that is so shady and blatently caused this accident gets away with absolutely nothing, especially since he/she just left the scene of the accident too like nothing happened.

When you think about it, there was one old person, and 3 younger people (under 21) involved in this accident. The old person, not only caused the accident, seemed VERY suspicious but also did EVERYTHING wrong after the accident. They only came out of their vehicle after we had already talked to everyone else to make sure that everyone was okey. They also only talked to me and the guy who hit me. And they also left the scene of the accident besides us telling them they shouldn't. The kids took care of the accident, the kids had the better communication, the kids comforted and talked through everything, the kids waited, the kids were responsible, the kids did everything right, while the adults did everything wrong, including causing the accident.

What does this say about the world? Maybe our future isn't so grim, maybe we do have a chance to make a difference and make the world a better place. Maybe our ideals, values, and morals are actually sinking in and making a difference in ourselves, our culture, our beliefs, and our generation. We are the future of the world, and we are going to make a difference. we are going to change the world and show everyone that we're not some loser slacker druggies or whatever our parents and elderlies think of us.

Now I'm just babbling on for no apparent reason. No reason is going to read this anyway, so it's not like it really matters.
