while vegas wasn't a very profitable excursion as far as poker goes, i managed to have a monster day at the virtual tables yesterday. when it was all said and done i took down just short of $500. it took all of 2 minutes to decide that i was going to cash out my winnings and head over to a surf shop in the valley and score me the longboard that i've been dreaming about for the past few months.
the board i got is a 3 fin mini longboard, 7'10" long and about 22" wide. white with aqua rails and bottom and a balsa stringer down the middle.
so right now the new love of my life is sitting in my apartment waiting to be rubbed with wax, thrown into the pacific ocean, and ridden to the point of exhaustion. i'm so fuckin stoked to get to the beach the the homie takeshi21. we're taking tomorrow off work and thinking of hitting up either surfrider in the 'bu or maybe manhattan.
my boss is on vacation all next week so that means i'll either be walking in to work late after surfing the morning breaks or bailing the office early to ride medium tide. timing is everything in surfing, ya gotta paddle at the right moment to catch the wave, and the timing of my boss' vacation is mad clutch as i'll get some serious quality time with the the beach, the breaks, and my board.
i'm thinking that i should name my board. y'all got any suggestions?
