monday's journal entry was pre-empted by my very own personal ad. i did however feel compelled to make a minor addition to it this morning so if you check the archive, there's a tidbit about my less than admirable traits. its late tuesday morning and my feet are cold and my socks and shoes are damp. i've removed both socks and shoes in hopes of facilitating the evaporation of water and the exorcism of wet shoe funk but now my toes are suffering from a bit of a chill. does anyone want to feel my icy toes? so what gives? why the accumulation of moisture 'round my nether regions? this morning was highlighted by my playing 9 holes of golf before venturing into the office. i would've liked to finish the round and play a complete 18 but i'm afraid that certain factions in the office make it their business to keep tabs on staff so i figured that my arrival shouldn't be delayed by more than an hour or two. but i'm feeling pretty damn perky after crashing early last night and waking up before the sun and 6 am.
miss jane just informed me that we'll be going to lunch at the taj mahal of grocery store dining, the india sweet and spice market here in the vall--ay. vegetarian delights of what i think is the punjabi province, how marvelous. i think the head chef is sikh, i've seen him a few times and he sports one of those head wraps. i remember some of the kids i went to jr. and sr. high school with that used to get shit about wearing those things on their heads and wondered how or why they tolerated the abuse. but later i read that the sikhs were the badasses of india and represented the majority of people that were most likely to cut someone in half. so i figure that those sikh kids must've been thinking that about two hundred years ago, if someone gave them shit about what was on their head, they would've been introduced to the business end of a very sharp piece of steel.
so this past weekend was bottom knockin and hard rockin. ok, not that type of bottom knockin but fun nonetheless. met up with bryan on friday nite and we rolled with shifty to get some of the best korean bbq in los angeles at soot bull jeep. their recipe is bombastic and they dump these natural wood charcoal bits in the gas grills that each tables has for you to cook your meat on. i had to crash early because i had a bit of institutionalized torture scheduled for saturday afternoon. i did well enough on the gmat on saturday to not worry about having to take it again, so i'm fairly pleased to score in what is the 81% percentile. i suck ass at standardized tests so score one for me. we celebrated the my victory at the test center by hitting a few bars on hollywood before going to 1650 where i had a rare hook-up come in to port (must've slipped by those striking dock workers) and get myself and the fellas on a guest list. shifty and bryan claim to have seen a rather large female who was following my ass round the dance floor when i worked up enough of a liquid courage inspired groove to do a bit of dancing. shifty don't dance and bryan was making up some king pussy excuse of wearing shoes that did not facilitate dancing. according to my very biased sources, said female was going back and forth between dancing behind me and whispering to her friends and my sources were convinced that she was on the verge of grabbing me before i lost the groove and returned to the bar for an oat soda. my only reaction to their laughter was to figure that at least one person felt my groove and one is mos def better than none.. who knows, maybe tons of fun knew me from before. back during the mdma days, i was notorious for going round and finding people to hug. have you ever got a hug from a fat girl when you're rolling? its like being rolled up in a nice feather mattress. its a rather amazing and decadent sensation.
woke up sunday and took bryan to the farmers market where i got oranges, baby arugula and spinach, red onions, garlic, white nectarines, green apples, and grapes. i should've mentioned in my personal ad that i've become rather organic-obsessive. the rest of the afternoon was spent in a bit of a haze as i tried my best to smoke away any memory i have of the gmat and test preparation. i think i was rather successful.
