heaven just gained an angel with mad chops. although she didn't live up to her desire to die performing on stage, celia cruz never failed deliver the goods prior to her departure. i was lucky enough to see her perform last summer and feel that i'm a better person for it....

Amen to that. First Compay Segundo and now Cruz. Who is next? It's fantastic to be able to see these semninal artists before they passed on. I had the chance to see Miles play before he died.
Unfortunately, I'm gonna miss the show this weekend, as much as I want to go. Erin and I will be up in San Francisco for a wedding but hopefully I'll make the Joao Gilberto show. That should be amazing.
