A Dream I Had .....
I am in Seattle. In a house at first... (I swear it was the house with the really huge tree of that dumb weed dealer)...and there is a earthquake, only it's slow motion and everything is falling and collapsing slowly, the ceiling caving in on one side and the furniture sliding down and getting caught in the crevice between wall and floor until another slight shift and more stuff sliding and letting go and falling off and people scrambling in real time, trying to dodge the debris as they escape from the building. Using the hanging ceiling and broken walls to climb up and out, moving up while even the whole building is sinking into the ground very slowly. People panicking around me. I feel definately in the moment, but strangely able and focused and am trying to get out without pulling debris down on other people or grabbing the wrong thing that will come down on top of me. I keep in mind that I must move up faster than than things are falling down, in order to survive.
Part way through, I am now downtown Seattle and in a high rise but still in the same predicament until finally I get out and am running and am racing and people everywhere are running and losing their heads and crisscrossing in front of me and we're all in our own worlds and only just a few trucks speeding by and maneuvering past the debris and I am running while in my head gauging the buildings and streets around me and strategizing which route will get me out the quickest, being the least traveled, as well as posing the least threat of danger from falling wreckage.
I flag down a truck which only slows to a roll. I jump in the back and we fly out of the city, passing through debris filled streets and burning buildings.
I escaped. I was clearheaded and strategic. In retrospect, my dream would make a cool video game.
The end
