Well well, let's see how best to word what's been going on with lil ol' me lately...
Moved into the new place, and couldn't be happier with the setting, and price of the place for how big it is. And the place is completely redone from top to bottom, so it's slick and new on the inside. I really feel blessed with the situation by whatever forces reside out there. Settling in and meeting a few of the neighbors thus far.
The music situation has turned out to be great, as my buddy is moving from the midwest back to Cali in about 7 weeks. We've already got two new songs practiced and recorded before he's even gotten here, and we're both stoked to get some gigs going. It's really been a turning point in my life, as it gives me new drive to have fun and be positive again. With music comes gigs, and with gigs come fans, and with fans comes the drive to keep writing new stuff!
I feel like it's been a while since I could take music as seriously as I'd like to, but couldn't because of my previous band of a decade with friends I've known since I was a kid fell apart. (I won't go into details) Since then, tried a couple projects, and one almost took off the ground, which was a thrash metal type idea. Though I like the music, I don't like the people usually associated with the genre. The fans are usually elite-ist types that look down on other genres of music, and the musicians are even more anal about it. So yeah...like the music, not the attitudes. So this new band we're working on is definitely just straight ahead Rock with plenty of emotion and harmonies.
On a different note, I've lately been doing better financially then before, and plan on making some trips out of the area, and also probably go to more local events in the upcoming months with local SG groups, like SGSF and SGSac. Hoping to meet a few nice peeps along the way, maybe even some future friends.
